Burn the past
Friday, July 2, 2010

To my other friend out there:

Sometimes, we just need to let go of the past, and look towards the future. After we have learnt our lesson, there is no need to keep dwelling on the things that have happened. There is no point in questioning yourself. There is no point in asking 'What if' (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JGP99vg2GXQ ) because quite frankly, none of that matters, and the only thing that can be changed is the future. The past is set, and permanent, and no matter how hard you try, how many people you hurt, how many hearts you break, you cannot change that.

Sometimes people need to just learn to forgive and forget. People need to learn to stop holding grudges, stop hating people. Think of your worst enemy – the person who you have hated forever. Do you even remember what they have done to you? Most of the time, we 'hate' people because we only remember our initial reaction to something that they've done, instead of what they actually did. One bad thing can erase 100 good things. And I think we tend to forget that.
