CAMERA RANT!
Friday, May 7, 2010

WELL. LONG TIME NO POST, BUT IMPORTANT THINGS FIRST.

CAMERA!
I FINALLY GOT IT!

I was at home, bored and tired. And then my dad was like MATHS TIME and I was still bored and tired. And so I was like, moping and groaning the whole way through. And then my dad was like, 'What's wrong?' and then I was like, 'I'm tired', and he's like, 'I have something to wake you up!' and I was like, 'Is it coffee?', and then he said, 'No, do you really like coffee that much?'

And then I finished the maths question, and then he went upstairs. Then he came back downstairs, and he had like, an SD card in his hand, and I was like wtf, and he was like, 'SURPRISE!' And I was like (Y) (sarcastically of course)

Then he's like put open it! Put it in your computer! And I was kinda thinking wtf, because why would I want to open an SD card, there is nothing on it, and it makes even less sense to put it on my computer. So I didn't. And then he dragged me up to my room and put it on my computer, and on it were random snapshots he took, and he's like,' DO YOU WANNA TRY THE CAMERA?' and then, for like 5 seconds, I was kinda like 'What?' But then I realised, and RAN TO HIS ROOM, AND OPENED IT :D

Pentax K-x which comes with a 18-55mm lens :)

Yay! Win :) But yeah, its a pretty cheap model, but it has good specs in comparison to other models like Nikon and Canon and stuff, which are much more expensive for the same specs. Most other DSLRs with video recording capabilities usually cost over $900.

I actually knew that my dad got the camera, because I saw that the receipt in his bag. I knew that he wasn't going to be able to refund it because he bought it like a month ago, so I was going to be like, 'DAD! I DONT WANT THE CAMERA ANYMORE!' and then he won't be able to do anything, and I will sit there and laugh at him, as he tries to find a way to give me my $700 back :)

But then I was so excited that I forgot to do that .

SPEAKING OF CAMERAS, two weeks ago, my aunt gave me her old film SLR : Nikon FM. YAY! Its so awesome, its like super heavy, and its like got a metal body and everything, and everything is manual, and the aperture and stuff is like controlled in the lens, and it can even like function without batteries. SO COOL!

Its from like the 70s. I'm so bad at handling these things though. Just last week, I had the camera on my bed right, and the strap was on the ground, and then I tripped over the strap, and the camera went smashing to the ground (!!!!) and then, I was like FUCK and I picked up the camera, and I could hear that something was broken, and I took of the lens cover, and the skylights had completely shattered :( Oh well, still works fine :)

And yeah, last week I went ... places ... and I took some pictures with it, and its getting developed at the moment :) So I'll get the photos back tomorrow or Sunday, and then I might post some to see how they went xD

I am so excited. Like, superly happy :) I can't wait to go out and take pictures tomorrow! YAY!
ANYWAY, I think that is enough ranting for now. Time for me to read the 300 page manual :)
